Bonnie's Cafe is a small restaurant and takeaway in Beswick, Greater Manchester that has served great food to local customers for the past three years. The Lock, Alarm and Safe Company, a subsidiary of Community Security Group, was called in to advise Manager, Sheila Duffy, who wanted to improve security for her staff, the premises and its contents.
After a personal consultation with LASC manager, Myles Hartley, it was agreed that the best solution would be to install a CCTV system with a recordable DVR feature so that she could monitor, record and view any incidents that might occur. In addition, improved security flood lighting on the building's exterior made the four camera colour system even more effective.
After the installation was completed in November (it took just one day) the system was called on to perform when intruders broke into the cafe during the night.  Fortunately, the entire incident was caught on camera and LASC were able to download the video footage to pass on to the police. The offender was subsequently caught using the valuable CCTV evidence.
Shelia was obviously unhappy about the break in but said: "I am so glad that we fitted the CCTV system when we did. It has proven to be really effective and it will help to put another criminal out of business. I must compliment the engineers at The Lock, Alarm and Safe Company as they were very patient with us during training on the system and were always happy to come over and help if we got stuck. They also came in to help us to download the footage when we were broken into and passed it on to the police. We have since added two more cameras to the existing system and we are really happy with it. We strongly recommend The Lock, Alarm and Safe Company to other local businesses."
